Per 2.8 of the bylaw's it is the board's duty and responsibility to
remove members who have harmed the foundation. The list of reasons
isn't exhaustive, but there are some formal process rules to keep in
mind. This is definitely not a fun part of being in a leadership role
in an open source project (or anywhere else), but crucial that we
actually do it to make sure we have a respectful and well-working
community.
