Resignation

Per article 4.5 of our governance rules I'm stepping down from the
leadership team, effective immediate. There's two main reason.
For one I don't have illusions about a volunteer board, but this year
things crossed over from a bit embarrassing to a personal liability
risk I can't afford. Two examples, there's not budget for this year's
XDC, much less any expenses approved by the leadership team. And
second example is our internship programs, which recently managed to
produced pissed off non-internship we cheated out of 5k$ they
reasonably expected to earn, and not much else. And X.org has a year
budget of over a quarter million usd per year, if the in-kind
donations are included, and I don't have the spare change lying around
to afford risks of this magnitude.
The other part is that I've put a lot of effort over the past 10 years
serving on this team documenting all the various duties, because over
that time I've pretty much all the various roles. Fellow members of
the leadership team stated that we're so bad at our jobs we don't even
any of our duties documenting, meaning they couldn't be bothered to
even once look at the links to the relevant wiki pages I posted in our
meetings, trying to highlight the vacant positions. And it's not just
in theory, there's also a lot of the small details in practice that
got lost, like the rather meager amount of power outlets in the main
room. All together this is such a complete devaluation of the work I
put into this community over a decade that I'm not seeing any point in
continuing.
There's more than the above examples, but they should sketch enough of
the reasons why I'm not even willing to finish my current term.
tl;dr I've completely run out of even an inkling of motivation
Cheers, Sima
