The Gentoo Foundation (a non-profit corporation without any tax exempt
501 classification) is investigating moving its assets to an umbrella
organization. The process has been painfully slow. There's some info
on this page [0] that may be useful, but I'd expect the X.Org
Foundation to be able to complete the process of joining a new
umbrella before Gentoo so we'd be very interested to hear about how
things go.
