X.Org BoD meeting minutes 2021-07-15

These are the meeting minutes the X.Org Board of Directors [1] meeting.
Minutes and IRC logs are published on the wiki [2, 3].

The X.Org board meets every two weeks on Thu/Fri (depending on your
timezone) in the #xf-bod IRC channel on irc.oftc.net. Please refer to the
X.Org Google calendar [4] for time and date of the next meeting.

For any issues that need to come to the attention of the board please email
me or board at foundation.x.org and we will add it to the agenda for the next
meeting.

ITEM: Requesting ledger data
Received an update from SPI (without having to poke them!) saying that they've
looking into providing ledger reports now. Additionally, they sent us the
treasurer's report for X.org for 2020.

Danvet has been pinging potential sponsors, we got Khronos confirmed again as a
sponsor

Lyude finally had a chance to send out an email about this yesterday, waiting
for responses (hopefully) now

ITEM: XDC2021 invoices status/XDC2021 sponsors
Linux Foundation and Khronos Sponsorship confirmed, Manasi requested an invoice
for Krhonos, and poked Intel on creating a PO after which they can be invoiced
by SPI.
ACTIONS: Manasi will request an invoice from the Linux Foundation earlier today,
Daniel to keep poking sponsors.

ITEM: XDC2021
Closed the CFP after extending it for a couple of days, and finally got enough
talks to cover the three days of the conference. We got some very cool talks
this year by the way!
We received a total of 16 full-slot talks and 8 half-slot talks. On top of that
we received 2 workshops, 3 lightning talks, and 0 demos at this moment. We still
welcome submissions for lightning talks and demos!
CFP committee is almost done reviewing the talks. The plan is to finish
reviewing all talks by this week, and next week we can start accepting talks
together while preparing the final version of the program. Organizers are
finishing up the speakers document as well, which we will hopefully send
together with the acceptance of the talks.
Other things about the conference: organizers are still testing big blue
internally. they are still undecided if jitsi+youtube like last year would be
better, or if we should use big blue button.
Samuel will also be off for the whole month of august on vacation, so Lyude will
be taking over responding to XDC questions from presenters for them during this
time.

SPI didn't think that they could do anything that would make the process of
getting people to sign NDAs any easier, so we're proceeding with enabling closed
traces on a driver team basis with responsible members of those teams having
access.
