Even though i cannot be present, i would like to put the following up
for discussion with respect to conferences.

* It is highly likely that we share a devroom with openICC for the whole
weekend on FOSDEM (Kai-Uwe and I basically need to figure out how much
time each of us needs, and when to schedule what). There has not been
any official confirmation yet, as the ULB is playing some games again,
but the stars are looking pretty good. No direct action from the board
is needed though, as it still is a fully free event (apart from people
applying for travel sponsoring on their own).

* Imho, the matter of the next XDC should be decided at the _very_
latest around FOSDEM, so enough time exists to get a venue (foremost,
lobbying inside SuSE and finding out when the "big" room is free for 3
days in a row in september, without clashing with other conferences too
much). Do not drag deciding on this on for too long, the new year is
just around the corner, and before you know it, FOSDEM is upon us again.

* There seem to have been some delays with paying for the IIT venue for
the past XDC, to the extent that the students organization that helped
X.org get the venue at a reduced rate lost its rights for a while. What
went wrong there?
