If we decide to have an event on the East Coast it may be a good idea
to have it in Canada. We should be able to find a town in Canada whose
climate is not much worse than Boston at this time of year but this way
we give those folks who have issues travelling to the US a chance while
allowing those people from the US whose companies won't give travel
funding for overseas travel to participate.
Also I expect Canada is less expensive than for example Boston.
