Quick addition from my side: The board did leave open to sponsor
Sebastian as part of the normal travel sponsoring for presenters (like
everyone else), but postponed that decision until it was clear whether
Sebastian's talk was accepted. This year we've gotten a lot of
submissions and had an over-full programm even before the deadline was
there, and Martin Peres&I (serving as the papers committee for xdc
helsinki) had to throw out or at least reduce in scope&time a lot of
talks unfortunately, simply due to lack of time.

Sebestian's talk didn't make the cut, but Martin&I discussed for well
over half an hour, reading/watching an earlier recording of
Sebestian's talk, but ultimaltely decided to reject it. I don't want
to share those reasons with everyone here, but we did write Sebastian
a mail with those reasons and what we think would be a talk better
suited for XDC (for next year). If you know Sebastian I'm sure he's
willing to share that mail with you.

I think this is the first time we had to reject even talks submitted
in time, and it's definitely not an easy decision, and definitely not
one we made lightly.

Thanks, Daniel
